“Getting Out of the Boat”

The title of the fourth panel is “Getting out of the Boat.” Notice how the seed of faith in the second panel has grown and matured. Mature faith hears Christ calling us in life to come to him.

This panel reminds us of the story in which Jesus calls Peter to get out of the boat and walk toward him in the midst of a raging storm. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus he discovered the power to do what he thought was impossible. There are times in our life when Jesus asks us to do what we might consider to be impossible – to walk on the water in the midst of a storm. Mature faith understands

that when Jesus calls us to come to him and when we keep our eyes on him he will give us the power that we need.
