Scripture for the day is Proverbs 19:12, 20:2

A king’s anger is like the growling of a lion,
    but his favor is like dew on the grass.

The dread anger of a king is like the growling of a lion;
    anyone who provokes him to anger forfeits life itself.

After reading and reflecting on the passage, pray saying, Lord, when Daniel spoke to the king, he was genuinely distressed for him (Daniel 4:19), yet called him to repent and stop oppressing the poor (Daniel 4:27). How rare to see genuine love for an oppressor – and bold truth telling, all at once. Be pleased, Lord, to reproduce this in me. Amen.
