Scripture for the day is Proverbs 12:24, 14:23, 16:26
24 The hand of the diligent will rule,
while the lazy will be put to forced labor.
23 In all toil there is profit,
but mere talk leads only to poverty.
26 The appetite of workers works for them;
their hunger urges them on.
After reading and reflecting on the passage, pray saying, Lord, I love, dread, and can’t live without work. It is an irreplaceable part of my humanity and yet something that now wears us down (Genesis 3:17-19). Lord, it is not work for pay, but only work for you – for your eye and your honor – that will enable me to work well. Amen.
