Our History

St. John’s Presbytery had a dream to build a church in Ormond Beach.  In 1959 it came true when a young man and his family were called from Round Lake, Minnesota to build that church.  On November 22, 1959 Rev. Ernest E. Haddad and 90 charter members founded the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church.  Worship was held at the Coquina Hotel until the completion of the sanctuary and Fellowship Hall in April 1962.

Throughout the years, OBPC has grown to be a vibrant church in the community.  We worship together to give God our praise and thanksgiving.  We pray for God’s presence in our lives and through our study of the Scriptures we can grow spiritually.  Fellowship is the way we connect with each other.  Outreach in the community has always been important as we support many programs including Habitat for Humanity, Halifax Urban Ministry, Rose Marie Bryon Children’s Center and many others.
