We are announcing this date early to allow those who spend the summer months away from Ormond Beach to plan their return in time for our big celebration.
November 22, 1959 – Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, led by its founding Pastor – Reverend Ernie Haddad – was chartered by St. John’s Presbytery and began its witness for Christ to the Ormond Beach Community.
Because this is our 60th Anniversary year we want to set aside time during the months of October and November to reflect on what we have learned about God’s grace in our 60 years of ministry, give thanks to God for how God has poured out His blessings on us and place before the congregation God’s vision for the future that is being generated by our Strategic Planning time in January.
Beginning Sunday October 13th – we will have 5 worship celebrations that tell our story and lead up to the Anniversary Celebration. The purpose of these worship celebrations is to invite the congregation to gather before God in worship and remember important chapters in our story as a church as we reach for a new vision that God is giving us.
Sunday November 17th will be our 60th Anniversary Sunday. The morning will begin with a festive worship celebration at 10:30am. The worship will include lots of music, prayer, a brief message and recognition of people who made this celebration possible. Then, we will continue our celebration at 12:00pm with and Anniversary Reception.
